Facebook launches new safety feature in Pakistan for profile pictures

 

Good news for those who are still not uploading their profile pic on  Facebook account .Facebook has introduced a new tool to protect profile picture in Pakistan on Thursday. This new tool allow users to protect profile picture from being downloaded as well as shared. This main purpose of this tool is to decrease misuse of users images on Facebook.

On this occasion Facebook said:

“Last year we piloted new tools that gave people in India more control over who can download and share their profile pictures. We are now expanding these tools to Pakistan.”

“Profile pictures are an important part of building community on Facebook because they help people find friends and create meaningful connections. But not everyone feels safe adding a profile picture, Nashwa Aly, Head of Policy, Middle East and Africa, Facebook said.

“In Pakistan, we’ve heard that people want more control over their profile pictures, and we’ve been working over the past year to understand how we can help. This launch is part of our ongoing commitment to keeping people safe online.”

Now after this feature, Facebook download & share will be disabled for profile picture. In addition, people those who are not friend on Facebook; no more be able to tag anyone. Furthermore, Facebook will also prevent Android devices from taking a screenshot of users profile picture.

If user activate this new feature, an image of shield is added to show that profile picture should be respected.

How to Turn on Profile Picture Guard

Step one: Click on your profile picture.

Step Two: Click to Options.

Step Three: Click on Profile picture guard.

Step Four: Save
